LM Erring when max number of dvswitch ports per host reached

We are getting a lot of network related errors on one of our higher density LM clusters. We found that some of the hosts have more than the maximum ammount of dvswitch ports allocated. This appears to be a per host limit. With these hosts having 170+ vm's on them 256 ports per host is not enought.

Can an exsiting DVswtich per host port limit be changed?

Other options for workaround?
