Error when running REST GET: Empty nameString not allowed

I'm trying to hit a REST service with a GET command; it works fine using python, .NET, and a web browser, but when using vRO I get this error message.  Does anyone know what it means?

It is using kerberos authentication if that matters and the cert is trusted.
