VirtualMachine.Admin.Name and Prompting User for Server Name with Red Hat servers

Hi guys,

I came across the below thread in an effort to change the VM Name (within VC) and the actual hostname of the guest using vRA:

https://communities.vmware.com/thread/489015

ALL machines must in capital letters in the VC's inventory but only RHEL machines must use lowercase characters as they tend to not like host names in capital. Currently we can do the customization using orchestrator, but wanted to find out if there is a way we can add some of the custom property indexes that would prompt:

1) VM Name (Name in VC)

2) In-guest name (prompted)

These are to be specified by the user and currently it works perfectly if you use "hostname" in the property index, but nothing that seperates the VM Name (VC) and the host name of the guest

any ideas?

thanks
