Hello all,
I am struggling to find an appropiate way of dealing with the conversion between securestrings and strings.
As you all know, a lot of vCO workflows deal with credentials (users/passwords), that for some reason I don't really understand, were designed to store the password in plain text...
As far as I know, an option around it would be to modify any related workflow to bind the password variable to securesstring and convert it afterwards to a string through a scripting task, as its discussed here: How can i convert a string to securestring?. However the solution only works as long as you are only interested in running the workflow without considering having passwords in plain text all over the place.
Is there any way to avoid that? is it possible to hide a string value from everywhere?
I am looking forward to hearing how you guys deal with this.
