I'm pretty new to Orchestrator. I've got the general gist of it, but I'm really struggling to get something done that is inherent vSphere functionality, but there are no workflows (that I can find!) that will let me do this out of the box.
I'd like to deploy a new VM from a pre-built template with RHEL6 Linux installed to it (single NIC). I'd like to deploy it with a customisation that alters its name, IP details, network port group it connects to (n1000v, if it matters), etc, and I would like to deploy it to a DRS ESXi Cluster and an SDRS Storage Pod within that cluster.
I've tried copying the provided workflow for a Linux Clone with single NIC and amending it so that the host object to deploy to becomes a DRS Cluster object, and the datastore object to deploy to becomes an SDRS Storage Pod object, and that all fell over with errors I don't understand when I deployed a VM from it.
I've also tried googling as many different ways of phrasing my issue as I can, and I keep coming back to the same VM Communities posts that I just don't understand what I need to be doing with the scripts, inputs, etc ( and https://communities.vmware.com/thread/420938).
I should probably say, I'm on vCO 5.5.1, deploying to vCentre 5.1 (soon to be upgraded to 5.5)
Does anyone have an existing workflow that you can provide to me that will let me do this, or is someone able to talk through the forum posts I've already found at a step-by-step newbie level? Help...??!
