vCAC 6.1 and vCO - Querying AD Objects using the DN (Distinguished Name) instead of a string value!

Hi,

I have been spending the last week working with vCO and vCAC and have just started to modify some workflows.

I'm using this workflow: StorageGumbo: vCAC - Automatically Manage Local Administrator AD Groups.

The workflow requires a string input for the target OU to search Active Directory and create a group in the target OU specified. The problem is I have a Child Domain as well as Root Domain and I am trying to create a security group object in the Child Domain and adding a user account object as a member of that group. That user account object I am trying to add into the security group object is in the root domain. The problem with this workflow is that it is expecting to receive a string (just the name of the OU), therefore it is performing a recursive search in the root AD domain of the name of the OU. This always fails because the OU I want to search is in my child domain and I have configured my AD vCAC plugin to search the root domain and root ldapsearch base. I therefore want to be able to input a distinguished name into a workflow stub properly in vCAC which should then search my root AD Domain for the DN i specify.

Is it possible to create objects and read objects in the child domain when the vCAC AD plugin is configured to search the root domain? I have attached the workflow I am using to this thread. Hopefully someone can help!

P.S. I found this guide that shows how to modify a workflow to search an OU using its distinguished name, but I'm not sure how to incorporate that into the workflow:http://www.automate-it.today/create-computer-object-ad-using-vco/

Thanks
