Active Directory Plugin vCAC 6.0.1 Endpoint Creation using SSL

I am trying to create and Active Directory Endpoint in the vCAC 6.0.1 Advanced Service Designer that is using SSL.  I am able to configure the endpoint on either port 389 or 3268 successfully, but when I try to connect using 636 or 3269 it fails with a wonderfully mis-spelled error message..

Unable to create a vCO endpoint of type AD. Reason: Error: retriving cerver certificate. (Workflow:Manage SSL certificates / Get URL certificates (item0)#6)

This doesn't really doesn't tell me a whole lot.  I can tell that it is having an issue for some reason getting the certificate from the server, but what is preventing it from working?  I have vCO connected to the same domain controller using SSL without any issue, although I import the certificate file into vCO and restart the system before creating the AD connection there.  I had a coworker take a look at the vCO workflow and noticed that the Manage Certificates Workflow for the AD ASD Endpoint and he noticed an error stating ADCertificateUtil() not defined.  This is a VMware built class that should be a part of the AD Plugin in vCO.

This led me to try and load an earlier version of the AD Plugin into vCO, but I quickly found out that no other version of the AD plugin than that which shipped with the 5.5.1 Appliance will work.  So I downgraded vCO to 5.1.2 to give that a try.  I loaded version 1.0.3 of the plugin which has the class in the file structure of the plugin, but then found out that no Endpoints show up in the drop down menu in ASD in vCAC 6.0.1.  GREAT!  So I try to use vCO Appliance version 5.5.0 which I remembered didn't ship with a version of the plugin and then tried to upload the AD Plugin again, which worked.  Once I connect vCAC to this vCO instance I at least see Active Directory as an option.  I begin configuring it and I receive the same wonderful error as shown above.  Further digging back into the workflow also shows the same of ADCertificateUtil() Not defined.

I am about out of options for what I know to try and would like some assistance.  The main reason for working through this problem is so I am able to pass a password field to AD for password resets and new User creation for an Onboarding Service in vCAC.  Can anyone help me out with this?  I feel that I have tried everything that my mind can come up with and am now choosing to pester the communities for answers.  Thanks in advance.
