Looking at the recommended specs it states
4gb and 2 vCPU's.
In this format my VCO server runs like a dog, I noticed at idle it consumes 80% ram. In my dev enviroment I have split them out and it runs perfectly at this spec, the co hosted (default) option runs appaling.
After a bit of virtualVM work I found that the java heap default sizes are set to min of 2gb. No I am no mathematician but 2 apache servers running minimum of 2gb hosted sites on a 4gb box appears to be asking for trouble. I noticed a comment floating around that the default heap sizes are set with an expectation the services will be split across hosts.
yet the default Windows installation actually installs both on the same box. (yet unconfigured).
How are you guys running your production instances? 2 boxes? 1 box loads of ram? what is your recommended spec? what is the recommended java heap settings to get some reasonable performance.
